Building Apps for the Aviation Community

Aviation enthusiast, app developer, and student pilot

The Short Version

I'm a student pilot and indie developer building iOS apps for fellow aviators. I'm either at the airport or building tools to make flight training better.

Why Aviation Apps?

Two years into my flight training, I kept hitting the same frustration: the tools available for students didn't quite match how we actually learn.

Radio communications were my biggest challenge. I'd practice in my car on the drive to the airport, stumbling through imaginary clearances. But there was no good way to get realistic practice with instant feedback.

So I built ATC Readback Trainer—an app that gives you randomized ATC scenarios with proper phraseology and realistic radio audio. It's the tool I wish I'd had before my first call to ground control.

That app is now live on the App Store, and I'm working on my next one: a day-trip airport finder for pilots looking for cheap fuel and great burgers.

My Flight Training Journey

Current Status:

Student pilot, ~70 hours, working toward private certificate

Home Airport:

KMYF - Montgomery-Gibbs Executive

Training Aircraft:

Cessna 172

Next Milestone:

Solo cross country / Checkride prep

Favorite Flying Memory:

My first solo was on a perfect California morning—clear skies, light winds, and that incredible feeling of being completely responsible for the aircraft. The tower controller's congratulations after landing is something I'll never forget.

What I Believe About Good Apps

Solve real problems.

I build apps that address frustrations I've experienced firsthand in my own flight training.

Stay focused.

No feature bloat, no unnecessary complexity. Just the core functionality done really well.

Built by pilots, for pilots.

I'm not guessing what pilots need—I'm building the tools I use myself.

Respect your time.

Every app should make your life easier, not add another thing to manage.

Other Projects

I've also built other apps and tools:

  • Kyugo - A circular calendar app
  • Boredom Fixer AI - Activity suggestions for parents
  • Rendement Immeuble — rental yield simulator for multi-unit buildings rendement-immeuble.com (yes, I also like investing in real estate... gotta pay for flight training somehow ;-) )

But aviation apps are where my passion is now.

Let's Connect

I'd love to hear from fellow pilots, CFIs with ideas for better tools, or anyone passionate about making aviation more accessible.
